The evening turned out to be a late Thanksgiving celebration as we spent the whole time teeming with gratitude over how blessed we are to be where we are... JT was admitted to the Philippine Heart Center Saturday of last week (October 11) in preparation for his surgery the Monday after (October 13). Operation took 4 hours, just as expected and well… I will not bore you with medical jargons I myself cannot spell and pronounce, more so, comprehend. Fast forward to this day, his recovery process is going faster than his team of doctors projected. You gotta admire kids for their ability to bounce back from such hurdles… They don’t bear the trauma as adults (who’re supposed to know better) do. Ignorance is bliss, I guess? So last Saturday (October 18), I came to see JT for the first time after his surgery. Uhmm.. the sight of the stitches on his chest and the clotting of blood on his neck drove me to tears. People are naturally drawn to his cheery and light disposition. It’s like being cast in a spell… you fight nose bleeding conversations with him but you just cannot. His pleasantries are just too… engaging.
